Fibre of My Being’s First Birthday: Reflection, Gratitude and a Storewide Sale

Tomorrow marks one year since Fibre of My Being opened, and what a year it has been.
This little idea has grown into something I am proud to share. It has not been without trials along the way and has definitely kept me on my toes!

I am deeply thankful to those who have supported me. My business coach Leigh from Many Rivers has kept me on track when things were tricky, and I’m forever grateful for the people (you know who you are) who lend a hand behind the scenes or step in at markets. I’ve also been fortunate to be part of the wonderful Willunga Quarry Market. Meeting people, chatting about all things fibre craft, and soaking up the welcoming atmosphere there has been a highlight.

A big thank you also goes to my children: my adult son, who plays with his sister during holidays so I can attend meetings or get things done, and my toddler daughter, who has been patient and played happily while I work. As a single mumma, this business has given me the gift of being home with her, and that is something I treasure.

Running a business solo while parenting solo has been challenging. Most of my work is squeezed into nap times and late nights, and the learning curve has been steep. I have definitely struggled with the social media side, but it has been wonderful to connect with customers, meet you at markets, and see what you create. Each order makes me wonder what beautiful things will come from it. I love seeing your talent shine on social media.

To everyone who has made a purchase, or who will in the future, thank you. Without your support, Fibre of My Being could not continue.

To celebrate the first year of Fibre of My Being, I’m offering 20% off storewide, online from the 6th-12th October and at the Willunga Quarry Market on the 11th of Octber. The discount is automatically applied at checkout online.

Thank you again for supporting Fibre of My Being in so many ways. I look forward to another year of making and mending.
